14 Movies to Watch During February

Valentine’s day is coming up and love is in the air. Like any teenage girl I love rom-coms and I have seen them all. Here are 14 rom-coms you have to watch this month:

  1. Pretty in Pink (1986)-Andie, a high school outcast is just trying to fit in when she meets one of the most popular kids at her school Blane, but soon realizes the person for her is her best friend Ducky. 
  2. Sixteen Candles (1984)- Because of all the chaos happening in Samantha’s house for her sister’s wedding her family forgets about her Birthday. Samantha has always had a crush on the popular boy at school, Jake Ryan and  when he figures this out, he spends the whole day finding her and trying to talk to her.
  3. Can’t Buy me Love (1987)- Nerd Ronald is trying to become popular and pays the most popular girl in school Cindy to be his fake girlfriend. Once the popularity gets to his head he loses everything and has to figure out how to mend things with everyone.
  4. 10 Things I Hate About You (1999)- Kat hates everyone but when her father makes the rule that her younger sister Bianca can date when she goes on a date, Joey pays Patrick to take Kat out, but he soon falls in love with her.
  5. Failure to Launch (2006)- Tripp is a 35 year old that is still living with his parents. His parents hire Paula to motivate him to move out, and their plan works so well that he soon falls in love with her.
  6. How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days (2003)- Journalist Andie starts an experiment on how to lose a guy in ten days. She ends up picking Ben who thinks that he can make any woman fall in love with him in ten days.
  7. Crazy Rich Asians (2018)- Rachel goes to Singapore with her boyfriend Nick, while there she learns that he is super rich. Throughout the movie she struggles to get approval from his mother.
  8. Made of Honor (2008)- Tom realizes that he is in love with his best friend Hannah. When he goes to see her to tell her how he feels, she announces that she is engaged. Hannah then asks him to be her maid of honor. While being her maid of honor he is trying to woo her into thinking that himself is the one for her.
  9. Runaway Bride (1999)- Graham is a journalist that is interested in the story of the runaway bride. Once his story is in the paper, the runaway bride Maggie sends in a complaint that has him fired. He then goes to her small town to get all the information about her to get his job back.
  10. You’ve got Mail (1998)- Kathleen owns a local bookstore that is struggling and hates Joe Fox because his nationwide book store is running her out of business. All the while they are both  emailing a stranger that they confide in.
  11. Clueless (1995)- shallow high school student Cher goes through life thinking that the boys her age are gross. Thinking she is a matchmaker she changes the new girl into something she isn’t to the popular guy in school. Cher then meets the new kid, that she has a crush on but realizes that he is not for her.
  12.  Can You Keep a Secret (2019)- In a moment where Emma thinks she is going to die on the plane she spills all her secrets to the stranger next to her. Once on land she is introduced to the CEO of where she works who turns out to be the stranger on the plane. They then start a friendship and get to know each other more.
  13. Pitch Perfect (2012)- College freshman Becca is just trying to get through her first year of college so she can drop out and become a DJ when she enters an A cappella group and meets Jesse, a boy in their rival A cappella group.
  14. Thirteen going on Thirty (2004)-Thirteen year old Jenna just wants to be popular, on her 13th birthday she makes the wish to be “Thirty, flirting, and thriving”. The wish comes true and she now has to live her life as a thirty year-old.
