Hawks visit University of Houston
April 11, 2022
On April 7th, a busload of juniors went to tour the University of Houston to get started on thinking about what college they want to go to. For many of them, this was their first college visit, and to help people get the opportunity to visit colleges, transportation on a charter bus and supervision was provided for participating students free of charge. All they had to do was turn in a permission slip and pay for lunch while visiting. They even got a day off of school and visited Buc-ee’s on the way back!
While touring the campus, students got to learn all about the University of Houston from students themselves, from student life to academics to school spirit. The guides did a great job keeping it fun by talking about the university’s cat colony they take care of and stories about their mascot. This visit gave Hays students helpful insights into what college life will be like, even if they don’t end up at the University of Houston.
