On November 9th in Nashville the 56th annual CMA (Country Music Awards) took place. This year’s host was Luke Bryan and co-hosted by Peyton Manning.
The different categories included entertainer of the year, female vocalist of the year, male vocalist of the year, vocal group of the year, vocal duo of the year, new artist of the year, album of the year, single of the year, song of the year, musical event of the year, music video of the year, and musician of the year. Some of the entertainers were Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, and Morgan Wallen. The overall winner for the entertainer of the year is Luke Combs. Next, we have a female vocalist of the year. These people include Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryed, Carly Pearce, and Carrie Underwood. The winner is Lainey Wilson. Then we have male vocalist of the year. This can include Chris Stapleton, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, and Morgan Wallen.
The result was Chris Stapleton was the overall winner. We have the group of the year with Old Dominion, Lady A, Little Big Town, Midland, Zac Brown Band, and the winner was Old Dominion. Following the vocal group of the year we have the vocal duo of the year. We have Brothers Osborne, Brooks & Dunn, Dan + Shay, LOCASH, and Maddie and Tae. Overall, the winner was Brothers Osborne. Welcoming the new artists for country music we have HARDY, Walker Hayes, Lainey Wilson, Parker McCollum, and Cody Johnson. The prizewinner for this category was Lainey Wilson. There were many albums this year here are just a couple that got nominated “Growin’ Up” by Luke Combs, “Humble Quest” Maren Morris, “Palomino” Miranda Lambert, “Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’ ” by Lainey Wilson, and “Time, Tequila & Therapy” by Old Dominion. The album of the year goes to “Growin’ Up” by Luke Combs. Next, are singles of the year, who are “Til You Can’t” by Cody Johnson, “Buy Dirt” Jordan Davis ft. Luke Bryan, “half of my hometown” Kelsea Ballerini ft. Kenny Chesney, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” by Carly Pearce ft. Ashley McBryde, and “You Should Probably Leave” by Chris Stapleton.
The prize-winner of this category is “Til You Can’t” by Cody Johnson. After singles of the year we have song of the year. This includes “Buy Dirt” Jacob Davis, Josh Jenkins and Matt Jenkins, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” Shane McAnally, Ashley McBryde and Carly Pearce, “Sand In My Boots” Ashley Gorley, Michael Hardy and Josh Osborne, “Things A Man Oughta Know” Jason Nix, Jonathan Singleton and Laniey Wilson, and “You Should Probably Leave” by Chris DuBois, Ashley Gorley and Chris Stapleton. Here the winner was “Buy Dirt” Jacob Davis, Josh Jenkins and Matt Jenkins. Third to last we have the musical event of the year. This has “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” by Carly Pearce and Ashley McByrde, “Beers On Me” by Dierks Bentley with BRELAND and HARDY, “If I Didn’t Love You” by Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood, “Longneck Way To Go” by Midland ft. Jon Pardi, and “Never Say Never” by Cole Swindell with Lainey Wilson. The result was “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” by Carly Pearce and Ashley McByrde. Second to last is the music video of the year which includes “Til You Can’t” Cody Johnson, “I Bet You Think About Me” (Taylor’s Version from The Vault) Taylor Swift ft. Chris Stapleton, “Longneck Way To Go” Midland ft. Jon Pardi, “Never Say Never” by Cole Swindell with Lainey Wilson, and “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” by Carly Pearce and Ashley McByrde. The winner was “Til You Can’t” Cody Johnson.
Lastly, the musician of the year: Jenee Fleenor, Paul Franklin, Brent Mason, llya Toshinskiy, and Derek Wells. The final winner of the night was Jenee Fleenor for musician of the year.
Overall, the night was exciting, and viewers got to see who got nominated.
