John is 16 and grew up in Kyle, Texas. He was born on July 2nd, 2006, and has one sibling and two loving parents. John grew up in a religious household and would often work at Saint Anthony’s Church. He enjoys Basketball, playing video games, and hanging out with friends. Growing up he went to Negley Elementary school, Barton Middle School, and now he’s a Junior at Hays High School.

John has always been a smart kid, even in elementary he was in GT.

He has a 4.1 GPA and plans on majoring in Computer Science at Texas State. He keeps up with grades with time management and by keeping a calendar that keeps his schedule in order. John is also in NHS and was inducted sophomore year. He does volunteer work like chapter projects like cleaning up parks and group projects where they make dog treats. He may do a lot of volunteer work, but he also plays a lot of basketball.

John David is in select basketball at Hoop Generation and has been in it for five years. He even made varsity this year on the Hays High School basketball team. John’s loved basketball ever since he can remember. He had a hobby of collecting basketball cards and would trade cards with his friends who also admired basketball. His goal for this year’s basketball season is to make the playoffs. Though he and his team weren’t able to make the playoffs in previous years, he is confident that this year things will be different. John’s goal for academics this year is to stay in the top 6% so he can get automatic admission to UT. For those who are trying to academically do well, he says his advice is to not over stress about your grades. He says, “If you stress out too much, [your grades] can get worse.”

Though John has advice for others, he also has some weaknesses when it comes to school.

John said his weakness is getting the motivation to do his work. However, John’s strength is being able to stay focused. Just like everyone, John has his strengths and weaknesses. Though he stays busy with basketball and academics, he also needs to relax.

In his free time, John relaxes by listening to music. His favorite artists are Autumn, Rod Wave, and Playboi Carti. He said  music helps him keep his mind off the stressful things in life and that it’s just delightful to hear.

Not only that but in John’s free time he also enjoys playing video games. He likes to play 2K, Cod, and Fortnite. He said though he doesn’t have much free time to do these things since he’s always working on homework, he loves getting a good gaming experience with his friends.

John David’s friend Sincere Rogers has known John since 8th grade and he sees John as a hard worker. Sincere said if he could describe John in three words he would be funny, smart,  and athletic. John’s other friend Eric Castillo has known John since 6th grade. Eric describes John as smart, funny, and caring.
