Scholarships are a good thing to have because it can help you pay for some of your college.  A grants is money that helps pay for college.

Some seniors go on to get scholarships based on their high school skills. Colleges send out scouts to pick who they want to go to their college and to see who is really good at what they do as well. The scouts look for the really good player if you do sports, and if you’re in band, cheer, highstepper, or choir they look to see how well you’re doing too on whatever you do or whatever you decide to be in for high school. They even look for drum majors during marching season so they can see who they want to see who they want to conduct their band. After they find who they want they talk to your teacher and your parents and say that they want you to go to their school so they start to come up with plans for you.

You can go see their school, and see how it looks like and what classes they have for you to take at their school, and sees how the school runs as well. There are some unusual scholarships you can get for, being tall, being left handed, and even exclusively for those with diabetes.

If you want to go to college out of state you should see what you need to have to get in to their college and see when the deadlines are. Also see if they have the classes for what you are going to major in, and that you really want to go to that college and not want to change your mind later on.
