YOU. No, not you. I’m talking about the show. Launched by Netflix last December, I’m sure you’ve heard all about it via Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat or (if you’re old school) Facebook.

Although, the show originally aired on Lifetime and was moved to Netflix after Lifetime passed on the second season. YOU is an American psychological thriller/crime drama that takes place in upper east side New York. It is about young bookstore clerk, Joe Goldberg, who instantly falls in love with customer Guinevere Beck. Well, more like becomes obsessed with. Joe starts following her around, trying to get closer to her and quickly becomes entangled in all sorts of obstacles such as: Beck’s best friend, Peach, his neighbor’s abusive boyfriend and her son, his obsession with Beck and much more.

First off, let me just start by saying the description of this new show on Netflix is BEYOND lame. “Boy sees girl Boy falls for girl. How far will boy go to get girl?” Lame. Not intriguing at all. Did they really think that’s going to make people want to watch the show?

However, I admit I was interested after watching the trailer. It seemed suspenseful and thrilling, which is my favorite genre. So I decided to watch the first episode, and honestly, it wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. It was definitely..weird. The main character, Joe Goldberg, just gives off uncomfortable vibes. And even though you know throughout the entire show that Joe is the bad guy, you can’t help but root for him.

Even after Penn Badgley, who portrays Joe, told us not to. To all my Gossip Girl fans, Joe is like Dan Humphrey times ten. I highly recommend you check out this show if you’re one who favors thrilling suspense that’ll have you sitting on the edge of your seat. This show is riveting and nail biting, with lots of plot twists in every episode. This show will pull you in and leave you wondering what the hell happens next with its dramatic season one cliffhanger finale. So grab some snacks, take a seat and start binging.
