It’s that time of the year again– where high schoolers either dread being single, flourish in their relationships, or just simply don’t care about the day full of crafted hearts, oversized Teddy bears and assortment of chocolates. (Not to mention love!)
However you choose to spend the month of February, it won’t hurt to pick up a good book centered around romance~ ooh lala.
Pride and prejudice, Jane Austen
This classic follows headstrong, witty, Elizabeth Bennet who made a mistake of making hasty judgements toward a man from great wealth, Mr. Darcy. Elizabeth learns how to appreciate the differences between superficial and the essential.
The Selection, Kiera Cass
17-year-old America Singer enters the Selection, a lottery in which girls from all castes are chosen to compete for a chance to marry Prince Maxon. Giving them a chance to live amongst the rich and wealthy, for some, an escape from their impoverished lives. As America finds herself unexpectedly falling for the charming Prince, she still finds herself thinking about her first love, a boy named Aspen. A mix between The Hunger Games and The Bachelor, this is a story you won’t forget.
Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens, Becky Albertali
A coming of age story that focuses on a 16 year old boy who has to face being forced out of the closet after being blackmailed by a classmate, all the while finding himself falling in love with an anonymous emailer.
This book has one of the most lovable characters, with real high school relationships and drama.
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, Jenny Han
You probably heard of this Netflix film, but I can tell you now, if you fallen in love with the movie you’ll most definitely love the book in which the movie was based on even more. Lara Jean Covey writes letters to all of her past loves, the letters are meant for her eyes only. Until one day when all the love letters are sent out to her previous loves. Because of this her life takes a chaotic turn, forging her to face and confront all of the boys she loved before.
