Senioritis strikes the soon-to-graduate

Senioritis is a supposed affliction of students in their final year of high school, characterized by a decline in motivation or performance.

At this point in the school year mostly all of seniors may have been hit by ‘senioritis.’ By letting all class work pile up like our laundry and just showing up for school to keep exemptions. The days left of school are in their double digits and our minds are jumping with joy because we will finally be done with all the stress being put on us to graduate.

“I have senioritis badly. I have lost all interest in doing school work. I am just ready to walk the stage at this point and worried about what I’ll be doing after high school,” said Eddie Gonzales.

“Senioritis has gotten so bad that I wake up every morning questioning whether I should go to school or not, and multiple times sleep has won and I stay home for the day,” Harleigh Holder said.

On the other hand, some students have not yet been hit by all the stressful things high school brings. They keep up with their work and go through everyday as any other.

“Senior year has been very unchallenging. It has been one of my easy high school years. I have been able to accomplish all my school tasks with no problem,” Taylor Monroe, 12, said.

At the end of the day senioritis is a nice term for people who are being lazy. It depends on yourself if you would like to take it the easy way out for the last four months of high school, or want to finish off slacking.
