Pre ACL festival

September 30, 2019
The acclaimed Austin tradition is upon us!– The 17th annual Austin City Limits festival. If you don’t know already, ACL is a yearly festival occuring in October in Austin’s Zilker Park– the heart of Austin.
There eight stages are scattered around the vast, green park. Around 450,000 people attend every year, so the park is usually filled to the brim. The festival features a plethora of artists, some of those being Pearl jam, Eminem, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jay Z, and many others. This year the festival has a very interesting lineup featuring acts such as Lizzo, The Cure, Guns N Roses, Tame Impala and The Raconteurs. The lineup is a little different from past year’s genre-wise concerning the headliners, and many of the other acts are not as well known as they have been in the past. Although, this is a good thing because lesser known artists will get deserving recognition and a wider variety of music will be on display for the festival goers.
This year will be my 3rd time attending the festival. The first time I went, I only attended one whole day. If I remember correctly, I saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers to close the night, that was a blast. My second time going I went a whole weekend, which was even more of a blast.
This third go-around will be a bit different because I’m granted an artist pass, which means I get both weekends free, and all the backstage commodities. I’m really excited and I’ll be documenting the whole thing for a post festival story.
Check back with us after the festival for an update.
