Ways to help Australia

Mariann Parga and Janneke Waenink

As we have all heard by now Australia is overrun with fires. With an estimated billion+ animals dead, 28 people killed, and more than 2,000 homes destroyed — at this time a total of 17.9 million acres have been burned. There is a call to action to help  them:

The Australian Red Cross is accepting donations to its Disaster and Recovery fund.

GIVIT is an Australian organization that matches donated goods and items that are specifically requested by victims of the fires.

The Salvation Amy Australia is advertising donors to send money.

Port Macquarie Koala Hospital has a GoFundMe page, to help buy water and supplies to take care of the koalas and supplies to help them recover. It’s just one of the many animal sanctuaries asking for help.

Remember that anything will help them, even donating a dollar will make a difference for them and the victims in Australia. Let’s get together help in ways we can.
