Sometime on Thursday evening Hays HS unexpectedly lost a great soul, counselor Jorge Garcia.

Mr. Garcia was a freshman counselor and also worked with in-coming 8th graders. Mr. Garcia helped many students through so many things and was loved by many.

Garcia was a 1977 graduate of Hays High School, and his son recently graduated from Live Oak Academy.

Counselors were setup in B hall for additional counseling support this Friday for students who needed to talk.

This is a very difficult time for everyone, especially Mr. Garcia’s family and friends.
