Nothing puts you more in the Christmas spirit than listening to holiday music, as you stroll through the Trail of Lights in Austin or around your neighborhood. Due to this year’s Covid-19 circumstances most walk-through trail of lights have had to adapt. Luckily, in place of walk-through lights for people’s safety, drive-through Christmas lights are open and you can never go wrong with going through the neighborhoods around you.
If you are looking to save, the best neighborhoods around the Buda and Kyle area to look at lights is Plum Creek, Elm Grove, and Garlic Creek. Getting lost in the maze of houses in Plum Creek you can find that almost every person got in the holiday spirit to decorate. On top of that Summer Moon is located right outside Plum creek so that you can pick up a warm drink before taking a drive to see the lights.
Although it is a bit pricier than most years, Zilker is holding a drive-through trail of lights. In its 56th annual trail of lights, Zilker’s cost is $69 per car.

Further south there’s Santa’s Ranch, located just outside San Marcos. Santa’s Ranch has a long tradition of drive-through lights with a more reasonably priced light show. The ranch is $35 a car and has over a mile in light displays.

And if you want to ball on a budget, you can visit downtown Buda’s trail of lights located at Stagepark for free.

ghts that are perfect for holiday pictures, and you can get a pie from the Texas Pie Company right on the square with the lights.

Lastly, if you are willing to drive a bit farther, one last place you can check out lights is on the San Antonio River Walk. The popular river walk is illuminated from dusk to dawn. You can even take a boat ride through the lights.
