On January 14th and 15th the Hays student body got ready to welcome the future Hawks from Barton and Wallace middle schools. Students and their peers lined the main hallways, each from different pathways/electives, in hopes of persuading the future freshman to join. Each booth was carefully put together by the students representing their specific electives hoping to appeal to the incoming Hawks.
Clubs were also invited to make booths. Student council, for example, went above and beyond with their booth having a prize wheel, an inflatible alligator(Baka Suxton), woodblock letters spelling out “STUCO” and even their mascot STU the bear. Other courses such as ROTC, BioMed, Culinary, and Vet Tech also didnt skip out on decorated booths.
All in all, the career fair was extremely successful. Students and parents alike were won over by the decor and the students’ welcoming spirits, and the students are looking forward to welcoming their future hawks.
