Coming this June: the Devil’s comet

Coming this June: the Devils comet

This coming June look to the skies for a chance view at a comet known as the Devil’s comet- also known as 12P/Pons-Brooks, or the ‘Mother of Dragons’ comet.

While it was dimly visible earlier this month, the bright light will pass the face of the Earth again in June. And what’s crazy about it is that it will be visible to the naked eye. This will be seen by the western sky just above the horizon at around 9 p.m. If you keep a lookout for this in June this can be the most beautiful comet passing you will see for awhile. Some people may ask why it is called the “Devil’s comet.”

The reason behind this is that many astronomers say that the gas and the dust somewhat resemble devil horns. So they say that if you were in outer space would see some sort of flames around the comet that resemble the devil’s horns.

The Devil’s Comet is no ordinary comet when it comes to size. The comet is as big if not bigger than Mount Everest. This comet is not going to be as far from Earth as you think it would be. It is expected to be only around 144 miles away from Earth. Also, this comet is made of ice, gas, and is given to periodic explosions.

So with that being said- you should highly consider go outside to check out the Devil’s Comet this coming June.
